How To Eliminate Soap Blemishes
From Your Hand Made Soap!

Even the best soap makers have had to deal with soap blemishes from time to time. There are a few tricks of the trade to removing soap blemishes so do not fear.

You may notice your soap has small blemishes or marks on it, especially if you are making large batches.

While you may not care about soap blemishes if the soap is for your own use, if you are using your home made soaps as gifts you may want to clean up your bars somewhat.

A vegetable peeler is a great gadget for shaving off surface imperfections or rounding off corners. You can also use a small knife for this purpose, and you can use this knife to carve designs or initials into your soap.

A rasp or file also works on the edges of your soap.

You may also be able to remove minor imperfections by wetting your finger and rubbing this wetness on the surface of the soap.

In fact, water is one of the best ways to smooth and clean your soap bars, and because they are not made to the precise specifications of store bought soap, your gift recipient will be none the wiser.
