Melt and Pour Soap Making Is So Easy!
If you're anxious to begin your soap
making hobby or business, start with the melt and pour
technique. It's very easy to do and will create soap that you
will love.
It is probably the most popular soap
making technique today. And partly because it's easy, the melt
and pour process is also fun to do.
Here's the simple version of just what the
melt and pour process is:
1. You melt pieces of soap base in a heat
resistant container. You can do this in your microwave (taking
necessary precautions) or a double boiler. Quantities will vary
with soap making recipes.
But, for example, for starters you may use
just one cup of base.
2. Add any colorants or fragrances if you
wish. This is what really makes soap making fun and gives you
unique soap products. There are tons of fragrances and
additives avaiable.
Make sure the soap has thoroughly melted and
stir in your additives. Again, check your soap making recipe
for quantities. This completes the "melt" portion of the melt
and pour process.
But, you probably already figured that
out.
3. Now, pour the soap into your soap mold.
Do this right away. See, the melt and pour process is pretty
simple, right?
4. Let your soap harden in the soap mold.
Once it's hard, just pop it out of the soap mold.
And you've just made a bar of soap using the
melt and pour technique.
Now you can see why so many soap makers
prefer using the melt and pour process.
So, I really encourage you to give the melt
and pour process a try. I think you'l find it's the easiest
soap making technique to begin with.
